Convention 2008 PDF Print E-mail

The 2008 convention of the Canadian Action Party/Parti Action Canadienne was held in Ottawa August 22,23,24 on the campus of Carleton University. The convention convened under the provisions of the party Constitution, governing the election of the party leader, election of the national executive and adoption of policies and resolutions by the membership.

A major feature of this convention was an address by our current leader, Connie Fogal, who has tendered her resignation but has agreed to stay on as Interim Leader until a new leader is elected. Connie delivered her address on the opening day of the convention.

Convention elected a full slate of new executive officers. The new roster will be posted shortly.

Participants found the convention rewarding and productive.

Policies arising from the Convention will be posted soon.

Many thanks to all the members who turned out and participated with good will and enthusiasm.

I started thinking something was very wrong when we stopped singing the anthem and recitting the "lords prayer" in school every morning. Removing the "the lords prayer" I could understand as it is not for everybody to have that belief. However, the removing of the singing of the national anthem was wrong (if we are nothing else we are all CANADIANS)and in my opinion this was the first step in de-patronizing the masses to allow the slow implimentation of this new world order globalization plan.

Thank you for assembling a true Canadian party for the true Canadians!!
