-----Original Message----- Dear Ms. Fogal, Your conspiracy theories about North American union aside, your arguments against fixed election dates focus almost entirely on the false notion that the Conservative government's legislation would somehow eliminate the need of the government to maintain the confidence of the House of Commons. That is not the case. If you care to educate yourself about the bill, you will find that it makes provisions to explicitly preserve this crucial element of our parliamentary system. Under the bill, elections would occur on the same date every four years unless the government loses the confidence of parliament, in which case the election will take place forthwith, and the following election will take place four years later, and so on. Regards, Aaron Hynes Connie Fogal's Response to Arrogant Reply from Guy Lauzon's Assistant [Cap_mps] No to Bill C-16 An Act to Amend the Canada Elections Act Guy Lauzon-Assistant 1 My God, How can you lie that the NAU is happening when you are right in it? How can you expect anyone to believe or trust you when you take that line?? The language of Bill 16 is not at all clear and certain, re: protection of the "convention". It is particularly offensive that your response is so arrogant, you a civil servant who should have sworn to serve the public good and at all times to be respectful to citizens. It appears that tradition is another something current government has dismantled. Liberals or Conservatives, you now serve not the people, but the corporate, military, industrial, financial elite, and you civil servants move comfortably off the government trough and back and forth from goverment to any of them, while the "dirt" under your feet struggles to pay the rent and feed the children! Your attitude is proof that the extra governmental regime sees the citizens as pieces of manure. Connie Fogal CANADIAN ACTION PARTY/PARTI ACTION CANADIENNE |
